These native African beauties are not well known for their talking abilities. Of those that do they are the males and often have doll like voices that lack the power of other parrots. They do have an intense  “whistle / alarm” that can cause pain to those with sensitive ears. Senegals enjoy making, annoying, attention demanding, whistles and beeps such as cell phones, microwave ovens, smoke alarms and alarmclocks. They can and do develop an exceptionally strong bond with individuals. They are territorial and will stand their ground. They can be "bullies"; chase other animals such as dogs and cats if these animals are easily intimidated. They a special thrill to watch when they are playing with toys. Their movements will sometines land them on the floor and have the observer rolling with laughter.
