We've actually been breeding birds
since 1995. We started out by hand raising parakeets. Things progressed and
more exotic birds came into our fold. What started out as a hobby, soon
blossomed into a a business after realizing the horrors of "Bird
Mills" and unscrupulous breeders. The resulting trauma that takes place
in these places, often results in disease and death to the baby birds as well
as the adults. We decided we could do it better, have a satisfied customer
base, and most important, provide a safe haven and nurtured environment to
breed exotic parrots. Environment is one of the most important aspects in
raising parrots, as we all know, the existence of the creatures in the wild
is dwindling. At approximately 2 to 3 weeks after hatching, we extricate the
fledglings from the nest and begin the process of hand feeding thus
initiating the bonding process to humans. They are fed premium formula at
specified times, as required, thus promoting proper nutrition and health.
Depending on the species, they usually wean in about 8 to 10 weeks. Some are
even longer. |
